Over the past month Bret Shepley, President of Taylored Pickleball Initiative, has spent 2 weeks introducing the game of Pickleball to 8 Bruce Peninsula District School (BPDS) student gym classes. At the conclusion of the 2 weeks, the Initiative donated the Pickleball nets, paddles, and balls to Bruce Peninsula District School for ongoing use by the students!

Students at Bruce Peninsula District School would like to thank Bret Shepley for organizing this very generous donation as well as recognize the time and effort he has placed in introducing and teaching the skills of the game to students! Students are very enthusiastic and excited that Pickleball can be added to their physical education classes moving forward!

Since the inception of the Initiative in 2022 the organization has received funding from Community Foundation Grey Bruce and Jumpstart, which has been reinvesting in youth throughout Bruce and Grey Counties.

There are weekly youth Pickleball development sessions available for those interested in the sport:

• Monday evening from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at BPDS

• Tuesday evening from 6:00pm-7:30pm for ages 10–14 at the Tobermory Community Centre

• Wednesday evening from 6:00pm-7:00pm for ages 6-9 year at the Tobermory Community Centre
