Pickleball Hamilton continued it’s community outreach by hosting a “ Pickleball is for Everyone Event” on Canada Day.

We advertised this event through the local paper and our members and we were thrilled to have 55 people stop by for our 3 hour event.   Our advertisement even caught the attention of the local news and they attended and we got a great shout out on the evening news that day.    We had ages 10 – 60+ in attendance even though the day was extremely hot with high humidity all the participants were glowing with smiles and sweat as they walked away thanking us for the great experience and our friendly members who took the time to help them.  At one time we had 10 courts filled with our visitors.

As one of the attendees left she stopped to thank us stated that she had previously been introduced to pickleball but the experience wasn’t the greatest so wasn’t sure about coming to our event with her friends, but she was now totally thrilled with the game and thanked our club for being so friendly, helpful and encouraging.    That made our day knowing that  you can really make a difference by take the time and sharing your passion with others.     Our group had also  set up at an Open Streets Event in Hamilton 2 weeks prior where we had a net and encouraged people to try, even having the Hamilton Tiger Cats Cheerleaders play.  Again we’ve had people reach out to us after that event with such positive feedback.     If any club has the opportunity to introduce the game it really is worth it  because the appreciation, smiles and thanks that you receive just remind you that you can make a difference.
