Being an avid Pickleball player myself I decided to take my gear with me on my last trip to Leamington to visit family.
I took time to check in at the Recreation Complex to see for myself how the ball was bouncing on a court where I played many a badminton tournament.
Well, not really being surprised, I met an enthusiastic group of players of various skill levels aged from twenty something to well into the seventies.
After having a chance to play, I introduced myself as a member of the P.A.O. Board and conversation centred not only about the Board but also issues being experienced with club play.
Before leaving the players I met up with Mr. Dave Orashinsky the Supervisor of Recreation Programs.
After introducing myself I had a long conversation regarding how the interest in Pickleball especially in the 60 to 70 plus age category was literally exploding.
I explained how the players could access much through the PAO web which he stated would be included in the next newsletter.
So Leamington and surrounding area take time to check out the Sherk Centre at 519-322-2337 for playing times.
Come join current player’s enthusiasm for this fantastic sport played on a badminton court.
Bring your court shoes and shuffle on court and make some new friends
