CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WELLAND PICKLEBALL CLUB’s BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND ALL WHO HELPED THROUGH THIS PROCESS.
We finally got it done! The contract for the WPC use of the brand new dedicated pickleball courts at the new Empire Sportsplex has been SIGNED, SEALED and DELIVERED today!!
After many meetings, negotiations and discussions with the City, we are thrilled with the outcome of 6 brand new dedicated outdoor pickleball courts with individual fencing, walk-through to each gated court, shaded benches, and bleachers.
Many thanks to the current WPC Board of Directors: Ruth Feagan, Liz Simon and Gail Lee for their continuing dedication and hard work to see this come to fruition. Thank you to Carlo Miceli and Marlene Campbell for their past work on/with the WPC Board. Thank you to Brian Harvey for his past work on the WPC Board and his continuing work on the WPC Committee for New Dedicated Outdoor Pickleball Courts for the past 2 years.
Thank you to Mayor Campion, Councillor Bonnie Fokkens and all the Welland City Councillors for their support for the sport of pickleball in Welland even before we were a Club.
Special shout out, thanks and much appreciation to Councillor John Chiocchio for his ongoing support and helpfulness from the very beginning – all the way back in early 2018, right up to now!
