Tiffin Park Pickleball Update

Thanks go to the Town of Midland for approving the courts at Tiffin Park. They will be a showcase for outdoor pickleball with four dedicated courts, done in two colours with fences around each court.

While off to a bumpy start, the Tiffin Park upgrade is in good hands and our club will step back to let the professionals get the job done. The posts for around the courts have been installed. The net posts need to be installed and they are waiting for the painter to confirm availability. Finally the fences need to be erected. We are grateful to the Town of Midland for working with us on the project and we will let everyone know the opening date as soon as it becomes available.

Here is an update on the funds raised. We raised $16,645. We have eight corporate sponsors and over 70 individual donors. See our website www.midlandareapickleballclub.ca for the contributors. One of our sponsors, the president of the Midland Civitan Club, said it well “ I like the idea because it can be used by the entire community at no cost.” ~ Marie Fairbanks

How to Become a PAO Member Club.

In order to receive the benefits described, your club must be registered as a Member Club with Pickleball Ontario. This requires a signed agreement, which we provide. It indicates the club will abide by the following conditions:

– Recognize Pickleball Ontario provincially and Pickleball Canada nationally as the governing bodies of pickleball in Ontario and Canada respectively
– Support the vision, mission and goals of Pickleball Ontario and Pickleball Canada
– Maintain 100 % membership in Pickleball Ontario and Pickleball Canada
– Have a minimum of 10 people designated as members of the Home Club
– Have a Board of Directors
– Charge fees to participate in the club
– Have a bank account
– Have a non-misleading name
– Designate one person to interact with Pickleball Ontario
