In their most recent event, the Welland Pickleball Club set out to prove that pickleball is way better than tennis. They gathered in their Wimbledon whites on their home courts at the Empire Sportsplex in Welland. The members played a Kings’/Queens’ Court format of competition to crown the winners. All participants agreed that this format made for opportunities to play games with other members of both similar and different skill levels. And…it was abundantly clear that pickleball IS better than tennis. In keeping with the Wimbledon theme all participants dressed in white; iced tea and English scones were served courtside.
The Executive of the Welland Pickleball Club fundamentally believes in keeping pickleball fun, concentrating on the recreational aspect of the game; welcoming all levels of play. The Welland Pickleball Club frequently host these fun and friendly events to encourage interest and growth of the sport of pickleball in their community.
