Pickleball Ontario Announces 2026 Season Updates
ONTARIO, May 20, 2026 — Pickleball Ontario has reduced the minimum tournament requirement for Team Ontario selection to one Pickleball Ontario event, updated the Golden Ticket to cover Provincial Championships registration, and cancelled the GTA Regional scheduled for July 9-12.
Players applying for Team Ontario consideration now need results from a minimum of one Pickleball Ontario tournament, down from two. The Provincial Championships counts toward this requirement. Applications can be submitted at selection.pickleballontario.org and must include tournament history and results from the current season.
Gold medalists at each Regional earn priority entry into that specific event at the Provincial Championships, with their Provincial Championships registration covered at $75. Winners are responsible for the event fee at Provincials. Previously, the Golden Ticket covered the event fee but not registration.
With Provincials already serving the GTA this July, Pickleball Ontario has cancelled the GTA Regional scheduled for July 9-12 at Vaughan Pickleball. Players who registered will receive a full refund and will be contacted directly. GTA-area players are welcome at the Western Regional in Cambridge (June 4-7), the Northern Regional in North Bay (July 10-12), and the Provincial Championships in Downsview, all of which count toward Team Ontario selection.
